We originally created the Perfect range with a simple manifesto; to shift the conversation that surrounds the way we perceive our bodies while helping you to treat your skin perfectly. We focused on bringing together natural ingredients that would return skin to its healthy optimum and promoted body acceptance through self-nurturing moments. And while over the years the Perfect range has procured many happy bums and tums and helped many people make peace with their wobbly bits, a culture of negative body image persists, especially on social media with too much emphasis placed on the way we look and not enough on the way we feel and what we have achieved.
As a neuroscience-led brand, we know the importance of the mind-body connection for total wellbeing – it’s a perky mood we care about rather than achieving a perky body. That’s why our products are proven in clinicals to work not only for your skin, but also your brain. We also know from scientific studies that helping people to focus on the body’s functionality leads to a more positive body image overall. And so, this Summer our This Works perfect body campaign, with our very own real women - the amazing This Works team - aims to rebalance perspectives.
The rich and sensorial formulas of our award-winning products encourage positive, mindful, compassionate moments in your day for body care while boosting confidence and challenging beauty ideals. Formulated to perfectly protect, nourish and repair the skin, these targeted products instantly transform and improve the look of your skin, providing the perfect appreciation for every individual body part.

The power of Perfect, explained by our CEO...

Our smell is arguably one of the most powerful senses, and it's through experiencing different smells we can harness our nose-brain connection to have a tremendous effect on our stress levels, focus and mood. This knowledge is why more and more people seek products in their home (like essential oil diffusers), skincare and bodycare routines that are emotionally and physically beneficial. Our Perfect range was formulated with this in mind, using an essential oil Functional Fragrance blend proven in fMRI studies to activate areas of the brain associated with reward, memory and emotion*. This powerful scent means that taking regular time to care for your body is not only good for your mood through the physical aspect of finding time for yourself, or the ingredients that nourish, care for and protect your skin, but it is clinically proven to help you feel uplifted. And we all know that when we feel better about ourselves, we are better equipped for whatever the day throws our way.

Skinification of bodycare

The skin on each area of our body looks, feels and behaves differently. You’ll find the skin on your chest is more delicate than your arms or the skin on your legs may be hairier than your back - it’s these differing needs that call for body care that treats each of these areas specifically, with targeted formulas created uniquely for each area and skin concern. Typically, bodycare doesn’t focus on active ingredients in the same way skincare does, but people are paying more attention to their bodycare routines and looking to treat their skin from the neck down with formulas that are as powerful and efficient as their facial products. We created the Perfect range with this skinification in mind. It includes active ingredients like Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Arnica to treat each area perfectly, leaving your skin feeling nourished, enhanced and perfectly cared for.
Do you prefer to take your showers in the evening? Prepare for sleep with a warm shower or bath using our deep sleep shower gel. Formulated with our award-winning, natural Superblend of Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert to calm both mind and body and soothe you to sleep. Inhale the clinically proven scent as you cleanse the body and prepare for a peaceful night’s beauty sleep.

Bodycare for body neutrality

Our Perfect campaign aims to take value away from what we perceive as physically perfect and focus on how our body is perfect for us. By shifting the perspective from a perfect-looking body to treating yours perfectly with movement, mindfulness and products that make you feel good inside, we can together work towards a place of body neutrality. We want to encourage people to focus on what their body does for them rather than how it looks. We know that appreciating how our bodies aid us to walk, dance, exercise, enjoy delicious food, play with our children, be creative with our hands and so on, can lead to a more positive body image overall. It’s with this mindset and the help of our ambassadors including the proud This Works team, our campaign aims to rebalance perspectives and help people celebrate every body perfectly.

Meet our experts

When we place our focus on what our body does for us, rather than how it looks, we gain a new perspective that allows us to treat ourselves with kindness and compassion. If anyone understands what the body is capable of, it’s our three Perfect campaign body experts, who with expert knowledge are helping us advocate for body positivity and neutrality by improving how your body feels physically and mentally. Experienced physiotherapist Florence Penny focuses on a healthy, pain-free body with optimal function and movement, and shares her knowledge of how a stronger body that feels good to you can improve confidence, mood and the way you feel about your body. While a healthy body is important, we know that to feel good about the skin we are in, we must also work on our mindset too. Accredited trauma psychotherapist, Lauren Baird, helps her clients find their inner glow through exercises that support body neutrality, rather than positivity. While positivity encourages you to love everything you see in the mirror, neutrality is about placing no value on your appearance, but simply finding a place of acceptance – and Lauren’s tips can help you get there. We know that one way to improve your mood and mindset is to move in a way that makes you feel good, which is what dancer and body inclusivity advocate, Trina Cole, wants everyone to achieve through physical movement. Her work focuses on connecting with yourself, the emotions dance can evoke and how dancing is a simple way to find joy in the everyday.

Improving your physical health and wellbeing

We only get one body that supports us through our whole life, and specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Florence Penny, believes it’s important to give it the care and attention it deserves. As a physiotherapist for over 10 years and founder of her private practice, Flow Physio London, Florence aims to provide a bespoke holistic approach to wellness optimisation. Through research-driven treatment techniques and her ability to analyse injuries to assess the fastest, most effective route back to health, Florence helps encourage a stronger body with improved posture and stability, and ultimately improved body confidence from the inside out. She shares with us many ways – big and small – you can improve physical strength for a body that feels perfect for you including strength training, stretching and working on better posture by paying closer attention to where and how you sit throughout the day. Finding self-compassion with body neutrality

When it comes to our feelings about our body, we often find that harsh self-critic creeping in telling us we are not good enough. Experienced psychotherapist, Lauren Baird, focuses her work on finding ways to switch this narrative to find self-compassion and show ourselves the kindness we would give to a loved one. She shares her methods that help us take our focus away from how our body looks and strive to become neutral towards it. By working toward body neutrality, you can help your mind place value on what your body does for you and everything it is capable of, rather than putting our worth on our appearance. She advocates for finding ‘glimmers’ of joy in the everyday by doing things that spark happiness for you – because there is so much more to life than a ‘perfect’ body. Discover more ways to boost your confidence and re-frame your mindset for body neutrality, here.

The power of mindful movement

We know that joyful exercise is one of the most effective ways to instantly boost your mood and improve your mental and physical health, but for Trina Cole, movement is about so much more. As a founder of the UK’s first plus-size dance class, The Curve Catwalk and an esteemed performer, she has built her career on advocating for body inclusivity and uses dance as a physical and emotional outlet. She believes dance or movement should spark joy and that joy looks different for everyone. While some will feel most at home in their bodies doing a traditional type of dance, others get a bigger release with something freer and for some, joy looks like bike riding, walking or swimming. The most important thing is to find something you love doing and make time to prioritise it for the health of your body, your mind and your confidence. Meet some of the women behind our campaign

Our Perfect for me campaign is all about embracing the differences between our bodies and celebrating the things that make us unique. What better place to look for a group of authentic, empowering and diverse women than within our very own This Works team? This campaign is one we feel is especially close to our hearts. The day was filled with uplifting words and beautiful, organic moments unfolded as we shared our emotional stories and thoughts about our bodies, and continued journey to body neutrality. We were able to be vulnerable with each other, and the results were better than we ever imagined. Here’s what some of our lovely team had to say about helping us celebrate their ‘Perfect’...

Amy, (Senior Creative Manager)

“This beautiful community of women came together, lifted each other and the stress melted. We all shared vulnerable stories about our bodies, and something organically happened... it was the most authentic wonderful production I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on.”
Nicole, (Growth Marketing Manager)

“Growing up with my scars, I always felt different and never thought I would be modelling in a body care campaign. But the Perfect For Me shoot made me feel confident and beautiful in my skin. All my colleagues behind the campaign made me feel so comfortable and it was really inspiring to be part of. The atmosphere was one of unity and I felt very proud to be part of a team that came together in such a special way to encourage everybody involved to feel beautiful in their body."

Andry, (Lead Creative Manager)

“The team created such tight bonds throughout this process and shared their incredible stories. I was in awe of how incredibly brave and strong these women are and proud to be working with this amazing team!”

Body care remedies for strawberry legs, ingrown irritation and more

As summer rolls round, many women find themselves confronted with uncomfortable feelings and thoughts around baring their legs. While the nicer weather is welcomed by many, lots of women are still warming up to the idea of having scars, bruises, blemishes and uneven, irritated skin like ‘strawberry legs’ on show - Perfect legs skin miracle was created for this very reason. This award-winning tinted serum is a fuss-free way to add an instant glow to skin, using Natural Caramel to subtly add warmth that can be washed off at the end of the day. It can be applied to any areas you have on show - not just the legs - and emits the complicated fake tan routine which let’s be honest, many busy people just don’t have time for. It uses powerful, natural actives you’d find in skincare, like Arnica, Vitamin C and E to help reduce redness and improve the appearance of (but not cover up) blemishes that may be making you feel self-conscious. It’s a natural, simple way to take a little time to thank your legs and body with a sunkissed boost that enhances your beautiful skin and growing confidence.
Before applying any kind of skin tint or tanning product, it’s a good idea to take time to exfoliate the skin. Not only can this feel like a luxurious spa-like experience in your own home, but it helps buff away ingrown hairs, improve the appearance of ‘strawberry legs’ and help tanning products last longer, too. Perfect legs natural scrub is a thick, luxe balm that uses mineral-rich Himalayan Pink salts to buff away dry, flaky skin and a Superblend of deeply moisturising oils including Blackcurrant, Crambe and Almond Oil to restore a smooth texture and nourish dryness. It doesn’t only make your skin feel great, but your mood too, as it’s infused with our uplifting Functional Fragrance of Sweet Orange & Geranium Oils. Incorporating this product into your weekly body care routine is a way to nourish your skin and give your body the ‘me-time’ it deserves. When tired limbs need some extra love, run yourself a warm bath, massage this exfoliating balm all over the body, inhale the fragrance and take stock on eveything your body does for you. It’ll leave your skin and mood glowing.

Taking care of dry skin and loving your torso

The upper body is often the part of the body we neglect the most from our body care routines, but it plays such an important role in allowing us to live our fullest lives. It’s ironic we don’t treat the skin on the bodies the same way we do our faces as our face, neck and chest get more exposure to sunlight than anywhere else. Perfect cleavage & neck serum was created to nourish this delicate area with the same targeted ingredients you would your face. The Vitamin C and E, Hyaluronic Acid and Larch Extract in this serum work together to target the signs of ageing, firm and moisturise, but it’s also a great way to get to know your body and prioritise breast health. You can use this serum to massage and treat dry skin whilst checking your breasts and familiarising yourself with what feels ‘normal’ for you, all the way up to the collarbone and down to the ribs. Moisturising bodycare isn’t the only way to treat your body perfectly, we spoke to physiotherapist, Florence Penny, on how you can support your posture and upper body. Could you improve aches and pains by swapping out your work chair, raising your computer or changing your pillow?
Over the summer months it’s likely we’ll have our arms, legs and chest on show more than usual and having a just-got-back-from-holiday glow can make many of us feel more confident and ready for the season ahead. Using tanning products is a great way to care for your body as it means avoiding harmful UV rays, whilst still achieving the natural glow that gives beautiful skin a boost. Perfect legs gradual tan helps you build a warm, natural colour over time. By choosing how often you apply it, you can control your depth of colour and add to it quickly, whenever and however it works for your lifestyle. This streak-free serum provides immediate glow thanks to Natural Caramel whilst DHA develops gradually. Use it as part of your post-shower routine and apply all over Monday to Friday for a beautiful tan by the weekend and as a small act that sparks those all-important glimmers of joy.

Hydration for dry skin on hands and heels

If there’s any area of the body that needs a little extra care day-to-day, it’s our hands and feet. From daily dog walks to marathon running and life admin to board meetings, both these areas of our bodies work very hard and can more-easily suffer from dryness and cracked skin. There are many ways we can care for these areas, including making sure we are wearing appropriate footwear for our balance and stability, and carving out some time at the end of each day to go bare feet and explore movement. Florence Penny states that using a release ball is a fantastic tool to release tension at the base of our feet. For our hands, gentle stretching can make all the difference.
Another way to care for these areas is by paying more attention to the skin. Perfect heels rescue balm is an immediate, deeply moisturising remedy for cracked heels and parched feet and helps restore and repair extremely dry skin. It helps support the skin barrier using regenerating Cotton Thistle and hydrating Shea Butter. Scented with Lavender and refreshing lemon this quick-absorbing cream soaks into extremely dry feet and cracked heels to leave skin feeling repaired, soft, and hydrated. Want to show some extra love to your feet and your hands? Perfect hands intense moisture helps undo the effects of regular handwashing, laborious jobs and years spent in the sun, with a non-greasy, powerful formula. This hand cream uses a natural Superblend of botanicals, Coconut Oil and Larch Tree Extract to plump, tighten, and hydrate for skin that feels soft and boosted.
